[ ] Although I enjoy my daily exercise, and the sncreey along the way, my eyes are not always fully open. Rarely do I see things in a new way. Today's cool, rainy weather inspired me to get more out of my walk than soggy feet and a yearning for the summer gone by (or wishing I was in Mexico, on my next trip). I prefer to live in the moment, which does take effort at times. [ ]

-The 47th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control will be held Tuesday through Thursday, December 9-11, 2008 at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach, Cancun, Mexico. The conference will be preceded by technical workshops on December 8, 2008.
-The CDC is recognized as the premier scientific and engineering conference dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practice of systems and control. The CDC brings together an international community of researchers and practitioners to discuss new research results, perspectives on future developments, and innovative applications relevant to decision making, automatic control, and related areas. It is the first time that the CDC will be held in Latin America, in one of the most international cities of Mexico, and close to where the Mayan people built one of the new world wonder, the Chichen Itza pyramids and temples.
-The 47thCDC will feature the presentation of contributed and invited papers, as well as tutorial sessions and workshops. In addition to the standard oral presentations, the conference will also feature interactive presentations and demonstrations, in order to encourage an interaction exchange with the audience. Topics for the interactive sessions will be selected specifically to benefit from the time for interaction and discussion that are not available in a typical lecture session, and the authors will be encouraged to make creative use of poster boards as well as hands-on computer simulations and demonstrations.
-The CDC is hosted by the IEEE Control Systems Society (CSS), and is organized in cooperation with the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Japanese Society for Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE), and the European Union Control Association (EUCA).
