Context-awareness, a generaliza tion of location-awareness is perceived as an enabling technology for pervasive / ubiquitous computing. It is aimed at acquiring and utilizing information about the context of a device to provide services that are appropriate to particular people, place, time, events, etc. Such systems can promote and mediate people's interactions with devices, computers, and other people, and they can help navigate unfamiliar places. Context-aware systems with smart programs in years to come will enhance personal and group productivity by proactively executing time-consuming processes to meet human requirements. The goal of this workshop is to address and discuss the technical challenges and research results in data management in context-aware computing. The workshop is a platform to propose new positioning algorithms and location sensing techniques, including new techniques and studies into the properties of existing technologies. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Issues in data processing in pervasive computing Interaction management in smart environments Integrating data mining in context-aware computing Transaction management Ubiquitous data management Mobile objects Intelligent decision support systems Secure data mangement E-Business Proactive Computing Multimedia data management Web Information
