The conference seeks submissions from academia, industry, and government presenting novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of computer security, as well as case studies and implementation experiences. Papers should have practical relevance to the construction, evaluation, application, or operation of secure systems. Theoretical papers must make convincing argument for the practical significance of the results. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

access control electronic frauds security management
accounting and audit identity management smartcards
anonymity information warfare commercial and industry security
applied cryptography intrusion detection data and application security

computer forensics law and ethics risk analysis and risk management
cryptographic protocols peer-to-peer security intellectual property protection
database security privacy-enhancing technology security in IT outsourcing
data protection secure location services security for mobile code
data/system integrity secure networking trust management

Paper Submissions
Submitted papers must not substantially overlap papers that have been published or that are simultaneously submitted to a journal or a conference with proceedings. Papers should be at most 15 pages including the bibliography and well-marked appendices (using 11-point font and reasonable margins on letter-size paper), and should be in single-column format. Committee members are not required to read the appendices, and so the paper should be intelligible without them. Submissions are to be made to the submission web site at http://sec2008.dti.unimi.it. Only pdf files will be accepted. Submissions not meeting these guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits. Papers must be received by the deadline of January 10, 2008. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their papers will be presented at the conference.
