CALL FOR PAPERS ICCCN 2008: 17TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKS http://www.icccn.org/icccn08/ August 2008 St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, USA Sponsors*: Technical Co-Sponsorship by IEEE TCCC and Nokia (*pending) Internet Services and Applications The Internet has evolved dramatically over the last decade in its ubiquity and hence the scale and diversity of services being offered. As a result, numerous research issues have emerged dealing with content distribution, networking, and application management. The symposium will focus on recent advances in the broad area of Internet Service and Applications. It aims to foster interaction of researchers and exchange new ideas by bringing together members of the networking, multimedia, and development communities. The technical program of the symposium consists of regular papers, position papers, and works in progress. We solicit original and unpublished research achievements in various aspects including but not limited to the following topics: Large scale content distribution Network scaling Network management Peer-to-peer systems Multicast, application layer multicast Service level agreements for CDNs/ users Multiuser systems, multiuser detection Load balancing / tier 0 services Application scaling / experiments Network coding for media distribution Metro / local network effects of content distribution Last-mile content delivery Impact of wireless on the Internet Traffic engineering In addition, we are especially interested in soliciting position papers (Is multicast dead, P2P will strangle normal Internet services, Network neutrality is a hopeless cause, etc.). Position papers should be noted with the keyword POSITION: in the title and will follow the page limits of normal papers.
