  • Template:Event series should show a list of all events
    • Maybe a distinction into the different event types (requires to change the Property see discussion thread about this issue)
    • Like different Sections for Conferences, Workshops,..
  • Provide easy access to the forms
    • Homepage, on the individual events, event series page
  • The free text (dt. “Freitext”) field should not contain default values that must be deleted each time → use placeholder instead
  • Separate sections e.g for Topics important content might be stored there in wiki-format

see https://www.openresearch.org/wiki/FEC_2018

  • Organizer property ?
  • Page save and preview button also on the top of the page
  • Most of the fields should be collapsed by default
    • first widget expanded by defualt
  • Location is not clearly defined
    • properties city, state, and country are not correlated
  • e.g. city Atlanta exists in multiple states in the USA
    • but city page Atlanta exists only once → Events in both cities are shown
  • Location definition over worldmap easier
    • coordinates unique
    • Unclear which name e.g for a location should be used
    • Bombay / Mumbay
    • Shanghai / 上海
    • English name or original name
  • No person related data
    • but maybe the option that a person with the authority to add the data is able ot add the data
  • Forms should be vertically oriented such as a regular website
  • Date selection with the datepicker comfortable
  • Required properties should be located at the top of the form
  • if collapsed and an error message is thrown the widget should expand automatically
  • Subject (Property:Has subject) is only required if Event is not in series
  • if in series subject is defined there
    • this behavior should be considered in the Template:Event
    • maybe a selection in the form that the subject field is only shown if in series
    • Careful on the selection of required properties
    • inexperienced users tend to fail the entry of to specific data
  • How to define joined Conferences?
